Massara gives nothing away when asked about Milan’s links to Hauge, Fofana and Nastasic

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan sporting director Ricky Massara refused to be drawn on rumours linking the Rossoneri with three different players.

Captain Alessio Romagnoli’s injury, Leo Duarte’s stop due to Covid-19 positivity and Mateo Musacchio’s long absence have meant that Milan have only Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia as options in that department.

Massara was asked specifically about rumours that Milan are interested in Saint-Etienne defender Wesley Fofana and Schalke centre-back Matija Nastasic, as Sky reported.

“There are many names associated with Milan, there are many others. This week is getting hotter and hotter. If there are opportunities, the management will be ready but we are convinced that we are a competitive team and that we have set up a strong staff. If we do something, we will do it with great attention to the budget,” he said.

He was also asked about the intense speculation that Milan are set to tie up a deal for Bodo/Glimt sensation Jens Petter Hauge.

On Friday morning we reported exclusively about Milan’s interest in the Norwegian youngster and that the Rossoneri are expected to make a serious move for the player in the coming days, having already contacted Hauge’s agent. Massara, however, remained coy.

“We are running a little too much. Bodo has fielded many interesting players, not just Hauge. Right now there is nothing regarding this name, it is not even part of a department where we have great demands.

“At this moment talking about it is premature but if there are opportunities we will be ready. There are other priorities.”
