Massara refuses to deny links with Schalke and Chelsea duo: “We are evaluating”

By Isak Möller -

With a just a few minutes to go until the kick-off for Milan-Spezia, sporting director Ricky Massara was interviewed by Sky Italia about the transfer window. The deadline is on Monday evening, meaning there is little time.

Above all, the Rossoneri need to sign a centre-back before the window ends, as they currently have just Simon Kjaer and Matteo Gabbia available. Their search, however, has been very complicated and it remains to be seen who will arrive.

In the interview, Massara confirmed that they only will reinforce the defence, should the opportunity arise on the market. Ozan Kabak and Antonio Rudiger are two players that have been linked with the club, which the director responded to.

“We will see, there are only a few hours left, if there is an opportunity to improve under acceptable conditions, we will consider it,” he began (via MilanNews.it).

“Kabak and Rudiger? We are evaluating whether there are plausible conditions to move forward. It’s very short [the window] and I’m not sure we will do anything else.

“If something happens it will be exclusively in the centre-back position but it seems unlikely at the moment,” he concluded.

Hopefully, Stefano Pioli’s side will continue their unbeaten streak this evening with yet another three points in the league. However, it won’t be easy and one can only hope that the rotations will reenergize the team.

  1. Do we have to buy every year a new defender for 10/15 millions just to let them warm up the bench?
This smart-saving policy is not very smart.
Why didn’t you buy a good defender for 25? Please don’t tell me you didn’t find anyone better than Romagnoli for that price.
