Mediaset: Milan open talks with Raiola over improved deal for Donnarumma

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have opened talks with goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma over a new and improved deal, a report claims.

The 20-year-old has been in superb form recently, helping the Rossoneri concede the least goals in Europe’s top five leagues since the start of December.

Now, a report from SportMediaset suggests that talks are underway to reward Donnarumma, with his agent Mino Raiola having ‘excellent’ relationship with Milan director Leonardo.

Leonardo’s predecessor Massimiliano Mirabelli repeatedly clashed with Raiola over the starlet’s future, causing a complete breakdown in relations between the players, the club and the fans.

Negotiations over an extension until 2024 have begun – Mediaset state – with a ‘slight improvement’ expected on his current €6m-a-year salary.

Donnarumma has conceded just three goals in his last 11 games as Milan have moved up into third place in the Serie A standings.
