Mediaset: Donnarumma wants €7-8m per year to renew – Gazidis’ stance

Gigio Donnarumma’s future is yet to be decided: his contract with AC Milan will expire in 2021 and many clubs are interested in his services. Therefore, the ball is now in the Rossoneri’s court for the renewal.

According to reports from SportMediaset (via Milanlive.it), the goalkeeper has made two conditions known for the renewal: a successful project and an economic adjustment to his current deal. However, there is a problem.

Donnarumma already receives €6m per year and increasing the salary would mean reaching at least €7-8m. Of course, this is a figure that CEO Ivan Gazidis isn’t too keen on, as he wants to lower the entire wage bill and set a precedent.

As a result of this, the negotiations with Donnarumma and his agent Mino Raiola could quickly go south. Abroad, there is no shortage of potential suitors for the 21-year-old, who is studying English as was revealed on his Instagram page.
