Mediaset: Ibrahimovic waits before deciding future; €50m Liverpool target eyed as replacement

By Oliver Fisher -

The future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still to be determined but AC Milan have a name in mind for if he leaves, according to a report.

Given all the uncertainty surrounding the Rossoneri at management level currently, there has been plenty of speculation suggesting that Ibrahimovic could end his second spell at the club after just a few months rather than continue until then end of 2020-21.

Today’s edition of SportMediaset (via MilanNews) reports that Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic is strongly pressing to sign the Swede, while Napoli have also returned to the idea of trying to bring the 38-year-old to Naples.

However, Zlatan has not yet formally responded to Milan as he wants to understand the new project that Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis has in mind. In the event that Ibra should decide to leave, the hot name for the attack is that of Timo Werner, the Leipzig centre-forward who is a pupil of Ralf Rangnick.

There is rumoured competition from Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich for Werner, who is apparently valued at €50m.
