Mediaset: Kessie’s renewal becomes the priority for Milan – gap of €1m must be bridged

By Oliver Fisher -

The Milan management are trying to tackle the renewal of Franck Kessie with Calhanoglu and Donnarumma set for farewell, according to a report.

SportMediaset (via MilanNews) writes that at Casa Milan the priority has now become the renewal of Kessie, who was the absolute protagonist of the 2020-21 season and of Milan’s return to the Champions League, and whose contract expires in 2022.

There is still a difference between the offer from Milan of €4m net per season and the request of the Ivorian midfielder and his entourage, which is €5m plus bonuses. The parties are continuing to negotiate, but there is still optimism on the success of the talks.

As mentioned, with Donnarumma and Calhanoglu set to depart on free transfers, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will want to avoid losing any more valuable assets for no cost or even in cut-price deals. It is important, therefore, that talks move forward.
