Mediaset: Milan want Italy international but a four-club agreement is needed

By Oliver Fisher -

Another source has confirmed that AC Milan want to sign Alessandro Buongiorno from Torino, but it is more complex than just being a two-team agreement.

According to what is being reported by SportMediaset (via MilanNews), the Milan management have made Buongiorno their main target for the January window but Torino want around €30-35m if they are to consider selling their captain.

Milan are trying to lower that figure by including Lorenzo Colombo in the negotiation as a counterpart, and he is valued at €10-12m in what would be a permanent deal.

However, there are more teams implicated because the idea is that Colombo would be replaced at Monza – where he is on loan – by Moise Kean of Juventus. The latter can leave on loan until the end of the season.

We therefore need to find an agreement between four clubs: Milan, Torino, Monza and Juventus. It will not be easy given that January is a tough window to do business anyway.

Given the difficulty of the operation, the report claims that Lilian Brassier of Brest is a profile that the Milan management are continuing to evaluate. However, even on this front Napoli have also recently made a move for him, so they may have to act fast.

    1. We already have Kjaer, Tomori, Thiaw, Kalulu, Gabbia, Pellegrino and Simic… If we add Buongiorno we will have 8 CB for 2 position.

It’s true that Ricci is preferable especially as we don’t have true 6 in our rank.

      1. Pioli seem to want at least 4 established CBs and then 1-2 younger backups. Since Kalulu, Tomori and Thiaw all are out for 1-2more months injured he only got 2 at the moment in Kjaer and Gabbia. Kjaer is injury prone and Gabbia not the most solid CB. One new is a must.

It is also likely that Kjaers contract wont be extended in the summer, and Gabbia likely will be sold out or loaned out again. So then Milan will be left with Tomori, Thiaw, Kalulu and whoever we sign now, plus Simic and Pellegrino as sort of backups. Buongiorno, Tomori, Thiaw and Kalulu would be a really good central defender lineup next season, with Pellegrino and Simic as reserves who can play with the primavera to stay fit.
