Mediaset: Milan make direct contact with Allegri over return – the situation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have made direct contact with Max Allegri over the idea of a return to the club as manager, according to a report.

The Rossoneri’s crisis deepened on Sunday night as Vincenzo Montella’s Fiorentina won 3-1 at San Siro to condemn Milan to a fourth defeat in six games to begin the season.

It marks only the third time in the club’s history that they have lost four games before the seventh round – the first time since 1938-39 – and the pressure is building on Giampaolo.

TMW linked Andriy Shevchenko with the job, while Vito Angele confirmed to us that Giampaolo’s position is under threat, with three possible temporary solutions being considered.

According to SportMediaset – as cited by Calciomercato.com – contacts were made to bring Allegri back to the club where he won the Scudetto in 2010-11.

However, they describe the track as ‘cold’ and ‘complicated’ at the moment due to the excessive economic demands of the former Juventus boss.
