Mediaset: Milan will keep Plizzari as third-choice goalkeeper for next season

By Isak Möller -

As Antonio and Gigio Donnarumma will leave at the end of this month, Milan have been forced to act on the market. They quickly brought in Mike Maignan to replace Gigio, but Antonio’s replacement hasn’t been known.

According to Mediaset (via MilanNews), putting an end to all the questions regarding it, Alessandro Plizzari will be the third-choice goalkeeper next season. The youngster has been out on loan the last two season, most recently at Reggina.

He’s very promising and some even believe that he can become as good as Gigio, although the expectations have seen a decline over the years. Either way, it will be interesting to see Plizzari back with the first team again.

Of course, as both Mike Maignan and Ciprian Tatarusanu are ahead in the pecking order, we are not talking about a lot of playing time. He might get some minutes in a cup game, but nothing more than that.

    1. Best news I’ve seen in a while regarding The young talented and promising players Milan have at their disposal instead of constantly looking else wear. The only reason Milan fans shouldn’t be worried about losing donnurumma, now maybe he can grow and have the same chance to be the same quality and caliber a goalkeeper, probably with enough character to stay too.

  1. Either keep him as second-choice so he can get some playing time or send him on loan again. He needs match time to develop further. Sitting on the bench for the whole season won’t do him or Milan any good.
