AC Milan would use any funds generated from the sale of Lucas Paqueta to Lyon in order to try and close a deal for a centre-back, a report claims.
It was reported last night by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com that Lyon consider Paqueta one of their priorities this transfer window. The Ligue 1 side have been following the 23-year-old for quite some time and their sporting director Juninho is a big fan.
The Brazilian has not been called up for the Europa League match against Shamrock Rovers which has been confirmed as a technical choice by Pioli, and Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed to Sky that Lyon are indeed interested.
According to SportMediaset on Thursday (via MilanNews), there are decisive hours and days coming up regarding the potential sale of Paqueta to Lyon.
Should it go through and Milan recoup the €22-25m they want, that money would immediately be put towards financing a deal for Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic.
