Mediaset: One signing per department and a key renewal – Cardinale’s Milan plan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have once again changed owners and the incoming RedBird Capital have plans regarding how to build on the current squad.

According to what is being reported by SportMediaset (via MilanNews) the plan of Gerry Cardinale – who is the founder and frontman of RedBird – is to sign one reinforcement per department, therefore the defence, midfield and attack.

Not only that, but the stay of Rafael Leao is a priority for the American fund too given his immense contribution during the Scudetto-winning season and the potential that he continues to demonstrate.

Regarding the target for the midfield, Milan have picked Renato Sanches as the replacement for Franck Kessie. The Rossoneri have offer €12m to Lille but their request is €15m, while there are contacts between the management and the player’s agent Jorge Mendes as the gap between the initial demands of €6m net per season and Milan’s offer of €4m has been bridged.

The alternative to the Portuguese is Enzo Fernandez of River Plate, who is a bit younger but would cost €18m.

  1. Attack needs more than one…
Gradual reinforcement is good, but makes more sense to spend 150+m this summer and have complete squad for next 3 years

    Bremer
    Sanches
    Darwin Nunez
    De Kaeterle

  2. Does 4 be great but Nunez is not cheap & Milan could do with out Bremen. Saudo Snow, Bellanova, Andrea Cambiaso/Dougi, AC Milan need to reload but next season pay for 1 or 2 players if we need them.
Gabbia, D Maldini, Lacetic, Colombo need to be loan out for 1 or to season. Enzo Martínez from River Plate should be bout,. AC Milan need to U-21 players with great potential, bring them in for 1/2 season or a full season evaluate them & see the needs of the squad & player best for team & player. A younger player need to play more them a older player.
