Mediaset: Thiago Silva keen but Milan return is difficult due to two key reasons

By Isak Möller -

Thiago Silva to AC Milan rumours are back once again. The defender’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain will expire at the of this season, and it’s no surprise that the Rossoneri are being named as a possible next destination.

According to SportMediaset (via Milanlive.it), a return isn’t impossible by any means, as Silva doesn’t have many other offers and he’s ready to lower his salary. However, some people at Milan are already against the signing.

Elliott Management, in fact, have no intentions on investing in players like the Brazilian, who will turn 36 in September. The 30-and-under policy is clear and with Ralf Rangnick at the helm, the policy could even change for the younger.

The Rossoneri’s CEO, Ivan Gazidis, has already made it clear that he wants to lower the overall wage bill. Therefore, he can’t afford any luxury salaries for players that are coming towards the end of their careers.
