Mediaset: Ziyech, Ceballos, Rafinha, Ilicic and James Rodriguez swap – latest on Milan’s market

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have a number of potential options as they consider how to get the attack in place ahead of next season, according to a report.

SportMediaset (via MilanNews) start their market bulletin by claiming that Hakim Ziyech is the favourite option to replace Calhanoglu, a player who has been on the sidelines at Chelsea since Thomas Tuchel took charge. There is an obstacle though as Chelsea paid €40m just a year ago to sign him from Ajax, and he earned €6m net per season.

Among the profiles that the Milan management like most is Josip Ilicic, whose contract with Atalanta is expiring in a year and he could therefore be an interesting low-cost coup. The Rossoneri also like Dani Ceballos and Rafinha of Real Madrid and PSG respectively.

Agent Jorge Mendes is working on the idea of a potential swap deal that would see James Rodriguez arrive from Everton and Rafael Leao go the other way. For now there has been only one discussion, but it could be further explored later.
