Messaggero: Lazio surpass AC Milan in race for Chievo star

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been surpassed by Lazio in the race to sign ChievoVerona wonderkid Emanuel Vignato, a report claims.

Chievo were relegated without a fight after a dismal season in 2018-19, but Vignato’s breakthrough was one of the bright spots.

The 18-year-old played 10 times in Serie A last season, amassing one goal and one assist, and reports in June stated that Milan are battling Inter and Bayern Munich for his signature.

Speculation went quiet after that, but then earlier in the week il Corriere di Roma ran a story stating that Lazio are interested, along with Milan, Sampdoria, Bayern and Barcelona.

Now, Rome-based paper il Messaggero (via Calciomercato.it) have provided an update by claiming that Lazio have ‘surpassed competition of Milan’.

In addition, the Aquile are apparently ready to present an official bid of €5million for the talented midfielder. It would be up to Milan to match it, if they wish to beat the competition.
