Messaggero: Milan not giving up on €45m playmaker and have offered swap deal – Lazio’s stance

By Oliver Fisher -

Keeping with the theme of the last few days, another report has emerged outlining AC Milan’s concrete interest in Luis Alberto of Lazio.

According to what Il Messaggero (via MilanLive) are reporting today, Maurizio Sarri will have the decisive say on the future of the Spaniard after he reported a few days late for the preseason retreat in what many believe to be an attempt to force an exit. If Sarri tries to put Luis Alberto at the centre of his project, then he could stay, but otherwise Lazio might cash in.

President Claudio Lotito will not let him go easily though as he continues to value his playmaker at around €45m. Milan are the only club that have moved concretely and have even made an offer of a straight swap deal involving Rafael Leao, who the club value the same as Alberto.

Lazio also want an economic adjustment or the inclusion of Alexis Saelemaekers in the negotiation an under these conditions it would be very difficult for Milan to find an agreement. Despite this, the summer is long, and the player’s will could be key.
