Il Messaggero: Milan enter race for Lazio star with €60m price tag – the latest

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are already making evaluations for next season and having failed to defend the Scudetto, they are eager to reinforce the team in the summer. One of the players on their list is Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Milinkovic-Savic has been linked with a move to the Rossoneri for a very long time, but every summer he has stayed at Lazio. This time out, however, the midfielder could really leave the capital, as per Il Messaggero (via FootballNews24).

Juventus are in pole position for the player and are very keen on the deal, but Milan have now also entered the race. The 28-year-old will certainly not leave for pennies, as the newspaper continues, given that Lazio have slapped a €60m price tag on him.

Milan have earned a lot from their run in the Champions League this season but that price tag will likely put an end to their interest. Instead, they could focus on Brahim Diaz and use the rest of the ‘SMS money’ on a striker.

  1. Trust me. this guy will never come true. Last night commentator milan v lazio, SMS already to sign new deal.

  2. I dont understand why always focus with Diaz. This guy its like ghost in the park. Wasted money. Use that euro for pessina or giulio maggiore. Tandem with bennacer could be useful for build some attack.

  3. I dont think lazio could get 60m euro unless he renew. Already 28 years with just one contract left , this is last chance for him to leave or stay until his career end like imobile. If there is no competition from juve , i think AC Milan can get SMS for 30-40m euro , more than 40m euro better skip

  4. If, only if, we have such money, it’d be wiser to splash it on a decent ‘ready-made’ striker that can guarantee goals dan match fitness. The real urgency.

  5. SMS has been great, but I think he’s beginning the end of career decline. Not worth 60m. If he’s available for 30 then maybe I’d take a look. It would be hilarious of Juventus paid 50-60m for him and then got thrown out of Europe by Uefa though.

    1. Agree, he is only worth 30-40m euro due to his age 28 and contract left 1 years. I dont believe juve want to pay that 60m euro after they have pogba

      1. Pogba, who came on as a substitute 5 times in basically the whole season so played maybe less than 90min altogether? Some are just not thinking, SMS is WorldClass!
