Messias says Milan are ‘disappointed’ with Salernitana draw: “We lacked clarity”

By Isak Möller -

Junior Messias scored his fifth goal for AC Milan earlier this evening but it wasn’t enough to get the win for the Rossoneri as the game against Salernitana eventually ended 2-2. The Brazilian, of course, was disappointed.

The Crotone loanee opened the scoring after just five minutes, fittingly enough, and thus bagged his fifth goal for the club. He also played quite well as he linked up with Davide Calabria on the right-hand side, causing issues for the defence.

In an interview with Sky Italia after the game, as cited by MilanNews, Messias shared his thoughts on the result. He admitted that these are the types of games that Milan need to win to be at the top.

On the match…

“We are disappointed with the result. We played and fought. We lacked a bit of clarity. We are sorry because games like these are to be won.”

On the opponent…

“Against us, the opponents always play the game of their life. And consequently, we have to do it too. The position in the standings doesn’t matter at all.”

Dreams of victory…

“I dream of winning with Milan. Not only the Scudetto, but I also think about the Coppa Italia. My head is all in Milan.”

Milan will take on Udinese next Friday and after that, a tough week that includes the Coppa Italia semi-final (first leg) against Inter and a league clash with Napoli. They will need to bounce back against Udinese, in other words.
