CM: Milan want to fill €100m hole with sale of two stars but face difficulties – the situation

AC Milan intend to sell at least a couple of their big names without Champions League football next season, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com write that after such a disastrous season – to borrow the assessment used by Giorgio Furlani immediately after the final defeat against Bologna – it is reasonable to expect a revolution, but one that will have more economic constraints than in the recent past.

€100m to be found

Without participating in the next Champions League, the Rossoneri – when adding together UEFA bonuses, market pool and clauses relating to sponsors that will not be activated – will get approximately €100m less in revenue.

It is a disastrous result that has created great embarrassment in the London headquarters where the plans for the season were different, and the investment in the winter transfer window has led to nothing. To recover these lost revenues, it will be necessary to work differently this summer.

The No.1 suspect to leave Milan seems to be Tijjani Reijnders, the object of strong interest from Manchester City. While waiting to understand what the position of the Dutchman will be, the Rossoneri want more than €70m for his sale, after he recently renewed his contract until 2030.

Milan would prefer to sacrifice Theo Hernandez but the French full-back has given clear signals of wanting to renew and stay with the Rossoneri. He would change his mind only for a few clubs in the world, including Real Madrid.

Another suspect seems to be Mike Maignan. Negotiations for the renewal are on hold and faced with an offer of €25-30m Milan would not say no. Rafael Leao has confirmed his desire not to leave but everything will depend on the size of the offers that arrive from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia.

  1. I thought it cannot get any more toxic than it already is. They’re practically bullying our star playes out of the club. And many who call themselves fans (Gerryboys of course) endorse it. Even if Gerry sells and leaves this summer, he’s done irreversible damage in only 2 seasons and it’ll take years before they climb back.

  2. Cardinale is not a blessing to Milan. The man is about to completely ruin this club. I want my Milan back. Dear GOD please save our club 🙏🏽

  3. So he will sell our best players to make up for loss revenues from a super failed season and replace them with a bunch of nobodies. Another mediocre season will follow since we don’t have a real team and talent. None of these clowns know how to build a team. Then there will be no stars left to sell to make up losses. That’s when he will probably lose the club. Come on Saudis buy our club already. Enough of the this turd show.

  4. You don’t make an accountant the CEO of a football club like AC MILAN (furlani) and expect to win. Not magic. Look at inter. They made Zanetti their CEO and are winning. Maldini was given basic power and he won. Americans don’t learn and never will. But they gon learn the hard way.😅
