AC Milan are accelerating their bid to extend the contract of French striker Olivier Giroud amid a poor run of form for the team, a report claims.
As has been reported by QS (via Milan News), the Rossoneri want to ensure that they keep the veteran forward beyond his current deal as he has become a vital part of Stefano Pioli’s squad.
His form has dipped along with the rest of the team following his involvement in the World Cup but he is certainly deserving of a new deal and is not thought to be interested in moving to a new club.
It is believed that having sorted out the renewal of Ismael Bennacer, the club now wishes to finalise Rafael Leao’s renewal before then making Giroud the third renewal in a short space of time.
The 36-year-old Giroud will be out of contract at the end of this season.
