Report: The three Milan alternatives to De Ketelaere after talks stall

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan could start looking at other options to Charles De Ketelaere after talks with Club Brugge began to stall and there are three main options, a report claims.

As highlighted by our colleagues at Sempre Milan.it, optimism is fading at Casa Milan over the signing of De Ketelaere as the talks with Club Brugge are proving difficult.

There are three clear alternatives that the Rossonerican pursue to make sure that Stefano Pioli gets the improved attack that he has specifically asked for.

One option is Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech who Milan have been working on for several weeks. That would be a loan with an agreed fee for redemption but his €6 million salary is an issue.

The two Italian players that Milan could move for are Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi and Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo.

Milan would not want to bid any more than €30 million for either of those players but both clubs are willing to make a sale.

  1. Beradi and Zanolo will cost at least 40 mil, so Milan won’t buy any of them and most likely will not buy Ziyech cos Chelsea asks for cash and obligation. So Milan will have Mesias and Sale on RW and Diaz as ACM. This year will be much harder, the season starts on 13 august and we didn’t make any purchases.

      1. if it’s true that Scamacca signed for West hem, Milan will not sign Beradi even for 40, Sassuolo won’t need cash, and certainly won’t sell their top players in on transfer period if not some crazy amounts.

  2. Why is it so hard for this stupid management to spend money? You can’t pay reasonable salaries to even players on free transfer, you can’t buy out your top targets and you called yourself the champions of Italy? This is not the Milan that I know for many years ago. Can you guys just take a look at how Galliani’s Monza spends on player just for their ever serie A presence. This Milan is a joke.

    1. Definitely not a Milan that it’s before.
Maldini is trying something different, you need to be consistently playing in champions league for 4 or 5 years to increase the wage bill. One season is not enough, you have to increase salaries almost every 2years to continue the project that was started 2years ago.

And the income is not same or no where near when you compare with Premier league.
Take Liverpool for example, they spend very less on buying players in last 5years. But they are in champions league for many years continously, have 4times more income atleast on ticket sales than Milan.

  3. When I think back to those stories in the media about some 300 million euros that the new owner brings in for transfers !!! 😂🤣

  4. Ya so it’s better to spend 30M on Ziyech (5M loan + 25M obligation) who makes 6M a season and is 30 yrs of age w no resale value nor growth potential – than 35M on CDK who would make 2.5M/season, who 21 yrs of age, has huge upside and resale value????? Ya that makes a lot of sense to me LOLOLOLO……what a fkn clown show we have become.
