Milan, Aston Villa and Burnley share peculiar defensive and attacking statistic

AC Milan are currently preparing for the big game against Napoli, which will take place on Sunday evening. Now is a good time to analyse the statistics so far, and there is one in particular that stands out for the Rossoneri.

Stefano Pioli and his men have collected 21 points in the league, sitting in second place one point behind their city rivals Inter. Tomorrow’s game against Napoli won’t be easy but the Rossoneri must bounce back from two disappointing defeats.

Lega Serie A have published the pre-match stats and facts on their website and one thing stands out. Milan are one of three teams, along with Aston Villa and Burnley, that haven’t scored nor conceded a headed goal in the top five European leagues this season.

Milan’s struggled a lot with set-pieces last season but have looked better this time out, though struggling with other situations in the defensive phase instead. The stat above also highlights Olivier Giroud’s slow start to the season, with just one goal from open play.
