TMW: Milan taking backseat as Napoli pursue Sassuolo midfielder

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are yet to make a move for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi and Napoli could beat the competition in January, a report claims.

As has been reported by TMW, Napoli are very serious about signing Frattesi, who looks set to be the major talking point of the January transfer window in Italy.

AS Roma showed very serious interest in the Italian in the summer and Milan were also in the frame for a move. There is a reluctance to do a January deal though which leaves the door open for Napoli.

Roma have the advantage of being able to offer players in exchange such as Edoardo Bove and Cristian Volpato but the opportunity to join a team eight points clear at the top of Serie A could be very attractive for Frattesi.

The starting demand from the Neroverdi is thought to be around €20-25 million but there is also interest from the Premier League.
