Milan target Botman confirms he will leave Lille this summer ‘if things go as planned’

By Isak Möller -

Sven Botman has been heavily linked with Milan since the January window and it seems a move could materialise in the summer. At least, the defender himself has confirmed his intention to leave Lille.

The Dutchman has been on the Rossoneri’s radar for quite some time and since Alessio Romagnoli is expected to leave, he’s the perfect replacement. Young, left-footed and with a lot of potential, so you can understand why Milan are interested.

In an interview with L’Equipe, as cited by MilanEye, Botman was asked about his future as an exit seemingly broke down late in January. He confirmed that his plan is to leave the French club this summer.

“Is this my last season at Lille? I’ll see. If things go as planned then yes. But first I want to finish the season well with Lille. After that, we will talk,” he stated,

This morning, Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it) reported that Milan already have an agreement with Botman over a contract. The agreement with Lille is still missing but they should have no issues reaching one at €30-35m, especially with the Rossoneri’s new ownership.
