GdS: Milan will pay half of Caldara’s salary when he joins Spezia

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are set to pay half of Mattia Caldara’s salary when he moves on loan to Spezia in the coming days, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Rossoneri are doing the Aquilotti a financial favour in the loan of Caldara as they will be paying half of the Italian defender’s current salary.

The negotiation appears to have concluded for the move and the player will move on loan for one season and there is an option for Spezia to make the deal permanent for €3 million at the end of the campaign.

Other reports have suggested that as part of the deal, Milan have been given a preferential lane when it comes to the possible signings of Jakub Kiwior and Kelvin Amian, two Spezia defenders.

The Rossoneri could pursue the deal next summer or in January if they are interested and they will be given first choice by Spezia.

  1. He is a good defender i dont know why not keeping him or at least try him in pre-season before passing on the final judgement

    1. No, he is not. I’ve been following him last season. I usually do that with all our players on loan.
He was really bad with positioning, speed, corners and so on. And he also gained some extra pounds and became pretty clumsy. Still suffering from that bad injury. Not sure he can relaunch his career. That’s sad that a player with his physical appearance cannot reach his top level.

    1. The biggest flop was Bonucci. And it was shame to give him captain’s armband. We should never sign ex-zebras or do it with a big awareness. They spoil players. Higuain, Caldara, Bonucci transfers caused a lot of troubles. We also lost good young players because of them.
