AC Milan are not stopping after agreeing a contract extension with Theo Hernandez and they are hoping to get another one over the line soon, a report claims.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri management are also working with intent on finding an agreement with Rafael Leao over the renewal of his deal too. The paper takes stock of the negotiations for the extension of the young Portuguese forward’s contract, and confirms that the dialogue with agent Jorge Mendes is ongoing.
The two parties are working on the basis of a salary worth €4m net per year plus bonuses with the deadline shifting from 2024 until 2026, and the discussions are well underway between the agent and the Milan directors.
The feeling is that it will not drag on for too long and that after Theo’s future will be officially committed soon, the announcement over Leao could come shortly. Given Leao is on 9 goals and 6 assists for the season already, tying him down with a pay rise to reward his growth seems a wise move.
