MN: Milan could collect over €12m with a win against Liverpool – all the figures

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will play the most important game of the season thus far on Tuesday evening, taking on Liverpool in the Champions League. It’s the final round of the group stage and the Rossoneri can still advance to the knockouts.

In addition to the prestige of beating Liverpool, and qualifying for the knockout stages, Milan would also receive a lot of money in case of success on Tuesday. MilanNews have taken a look at the matter and there are over €12m at stake.

Each club that qualifies for the Champions League gets around €15m off the bat, while a win gives you an additional €2.8m and a draw gives you €930k. On top of that, the clubs that make it through to the round of 16 get an extra €9.6m.

Therefore, with a win against Liverpool and qualification for the knockout stages, Milan would get €12.4m. To that, we also have to add the €3.7m already obtained for the win against Atletico Madrid and the draw against Porto.

The game on Tuesday means a whole lot, therefore, also for the upcoming January window.
