ML: Milan convinced of Pobega’s potential and value him at €40m

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan know they have a very valuable asset on their hands in young midfielder Tommaso Pobega and they have set a high asking price, a report claims.

After he scored his fourth goal of the league season for Torino in their win over Hellas Verona, MilanLive confirms that the Rossoneri management are continuing to pay attention to the development of Pobega who would be very useful next month given the Africa Cup of Nations is on meaning Kessie and Bennacer will be absent for a few games.

Pobega is having an excellent season with the Granata who are really keen on keeping him beyond his loan, but important to specify that the 22-year-old is still owned by Milan and it is only a dry loan, so everything suggests will return to Milanello at the end of this season.

Pobega is doing well in Turin and is enjoying the experience but Milan absolutely cannot lose a player of his qualities and above all a young player, which is why they have set a starting price of €40m.

  1. No one will pay 40M€ for him now (which is a good thing – maybe they’ll keep him instead). But in a couple of years he might be worth over 50M.

  2. Good clubs usually sell players who are surplus to their squad. If Milan really want to a force in near future, they need to keep the talents especially when they don’t have players in those areas. At the moment , Milan seem to be playing only to maintain their finances. They do not look well placed to compete at top level. This is evident by their current form. This is where Inter has been better. For last 2 seasons they have really been the one to dominate. Even after losing Lukaku and Conte, they are currently the best team in Italy. Whether others agree or not, If Milan were to lose Ibra, they will be nowhere near top 4.

    1. you are forgetting one pretty important thing about inter and that is that they currently has a debt of around 350 mil euros that will need to be paid in the next 2 years. This means that they will have to keep selling players in the coming years unless they want to find themselves in a situation reminescent of when elliot management takeover where we were on the brink of a bankruptcy.

      1. 170 thru Hakimi and Lukaku and at least 60m from CL.

They will refinance and the higher rate will hurt, bjt in retrospect they were extremely lucky with those transfers. And their rebuilt with class.

Hope they end up winni g against Liverpool. All Serie A success are very needed this days.

        Maybe except juve.
