GdS: The Milan derby lineup clues seen so far – four fighting for return

On Wednesday night, AC Milan will play Inter in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia, and already we can start to piece together parts of the lineups.

A lot is being put on the game against Inter this week, however, there are also no expectations. At present, Milan must focus on Serie A, but it seems that this will not be the case, as Conceicao seemingly made a few predetermined options for the midweek game at the weekend.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that there are already some clues available to be seen, starting with the Napoli game; Rafael Leao, a substitute in Naples, should almost definitely return from the start in midweek, whilst Santiago Gimenez may share a similar fate.

Then, we can look at returns outside of the game. Starting with Malick Thiaw, who missed the game due to a virus, he is fighting for a starting spot, but we will have to see what his condition is like sooner to the time.

For Yunus Musah, a starting spot seems somewhat likely, with the American being available for selection once again after serving his league suspension at the weekend. In fact, the report states that Sergio Conceicao can make a midfield turnover.

Emerson Royal is still not ready, according to Gazzetta, whilst Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s surgery will keep him out for around a month.

  1. I have once advised you to stick with your 4-3-3 formation of the Walker, Gabbia, Thiaw, Theo; Musah, Tijjani, Fofana; Pulisic, Gimenez, Leao. This should be the 1st team and substitute to kill off games should be Pavlovic or Tomori for defence line. Chukwueze for attacking transitions, Bondo for tired legs and Abraham for hold-up plays and others.
