CM: Milan evaluating €20m Roma midfielder ahead of potential summer shake-up

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are evaluating the idea of making an attempt to sign Jordan Veretout from Roma in the summer, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com have taken a look at Milan’s midfield situation and they hypothesise that there could be two exits as Franck Kessie’s contract will expire but Tiemoue Bakayoko might have his loan terminated a year early given his lack of playing time.

That is why – in addition to Yacine Adli (who is more of a playmaker) and Tommaso Pobega returning from loan plus the potential signing of Renato Sanches – Jordan Veretout has come back into fashion.

He is a player that head coach Stefano Pioli knows well and admires after his time at Fiorentina, and the Frenchman will leave Roma at the end of the season so he represents an opportunity that the management will evaluate.

One of the pre-requisites to any negotiations is that the Giallorossi lower their asking price from the current €20m, but at the moment we are only in the evaluation phase, with no concrete contact between the parties.
