AC Milan are expecting to be able to announce the renewal of Olivier Giroud in the next couple of weeks, according to a report.
Giroud continues to be the striker that Stefano Pioli relies on most just as he was last season despite the signing of Divock Origi and the recovery of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but with his deal due to expire in June action was needed.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Giroud’s renewal is a formality and in the next 10-15 days the agreement will be ratified. It has been in the pipeline for a while, but at the moment the Rossoneri do not want to go any further because attention will have to be directed solely to the pitch.
A simply season-defining month of April awaits for Milan as they are in the heart of the battle for a top four spot while they also face Napoli in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
can’t fathom why is it taking months if it really is just a formality
