GdS: Milan experiencing ‘strange Saturday’ with Milanello empty after plans change

AC Milan should currently be in the final preparations for a game against Bologna, but the postponement has resulted in a ‘strange Saturday’.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, the context surrounding the postponement of the match against Bologna brings controversy from all points of view. However, there is at least one positive aspect: Milan will ‘rest’ in view of the Napoli game Tuesday night at San Siro.

Napoli will instead play today at home against Lecce but it is an advantage that is still relative, since Antonio Conte’s team do not have European competitions to think about and thus have less games in their legs.

The issue for Milan is that the postponement means Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders will now serve their bans against the league-leaders rather than against Bologna.

The Rossoneri’s work program obviously changes too. Saturday has become a day of rest, with training scheduled to resume on Sunday morning. Monday will be the finishing touches before the match against the Azzurri, for which some players will need to be assessed.

Davide Calabria has recovered, but there are still questions about TammyAbraham (trauma to the right shoulder) and Luka Jovic (pubalgia). Both were expected to be absent at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, but they remain at risk for Napoli as well.

Francesco Camarda could be called up if the two strikers have not recovered but he might have been anyway, given the Futuro do not have any midweek commitments.
