Milan fan who travelled from Chile for Milan-Genoa says he ‘had been saving for years’

The luck wasn’t on David Mora Cvitanic’s side this weekend. Having booked a trip from Chile to Milan back in October, things didn’t exactly go to plan as Serie A decided to postpone the game until May.

On Thursday, the league stated that it would be played behind closed doors, only to postpone it completely two days later. In any case, it’s a decision that didn’t benefit the Milan fan, having travelled all the way from Patagonia, Chile.

Sharing his story on Twitter, he immediately got the support of the Milan community, willing to help out in any way possible. Hopefully, he will get to see his favourite team live very soon.

“From the Chilean Patagonia, I travelled more than 13,300km to see you my AC Milan. I will not have the joy of supporting you from the mythical San Siro. But the feeling is great, it brought me from the southern lands of the world to here,” he wrote.

In another tweet, the fan added that he had been saving money for years to be able to make the trip to Italy.
