It seems that the wait for Charles De Ketelaere is almost over, but the AC Milan management cannot rest as they must now reinforce other areas too.
MilanNews writes that the centre-back position must be fixed too because at the moment the only certainties of the Rossoneri rearguard are Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu. Given that Milan will have 21 games in the first 3 months, alternatives are also needed.
At the moment the first alternative is Simon Kjaer but the Dane has not played since the beginning of December when he sustained a serious knee ligament injury. He came back to training at Milanello on 4 July but is yet to play a minute in a friendly, hence the uncertainties currently.
Then there is Matteo Gabbia whose days with Milan could well be numbered. He is considered ‘on the market’ but until another defender arrives, he will not move.
In terms of signings, the name of Japhet Tanganga remains top of the list. Milan want the player on a paid loan with option to buy set at €15-20m, but Fabio Paratici wants it to be an obligation to buy. The parties are continuing to speak regularly.
