It has been a season of ups and downs for Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2021-22 so far just as the last one was, and Stefano Pioli has a decision to make ahead of the derby against Inter.
MilanNews writes how the 40-year-old has been plagued by injury problems again that have caused him to miss some key fixtures but the numbers suggest he should be trusted. In 19 appearances so far in the current campaign he has 8 goals to him name, not bad in a total of 1,068 minutes played in both league and cup given it results in an average of a goal every 133 minutes.
Stefano Pioli and the club know that the Swede is an added value for this team and he should recover from the Achilles pain that forced him to leave the match against Juventus after less than half an hour.
In view of the derby against Inter on February 5th, Pioli must decide whether Ibra should be the starter or not in what is a huge game, given it will virtually decide whether the Rossoneri are still in the title race or will be resigned to battling for the top four.
It is too early to decide, so in the next few days Pioli will carefully evaluate his condition and decide what to do, while Olivier Giroud is also well and has disposed of all the physical problems he had in recent months. The Frenchman has scored all of his goals at San Siro, while the Swede is without a home goal since September – something else that might feed into the decision.

With Ibrahimovic as a starter we have also dropped 18 points in seria A out of the total 20 points that we dropped so far. From all the attackers that we have, the attack looked weakest with him up front and best with Rebic.
Giroud is still a very capable striker ,and I have no doubt whatsoever ,that he will score goals now that his fitness has returned ..He has a incredible gift of being able to score goals with both feet and also great
heading ability ,but of course he needs the correct service ..I can’t see a real problem for this AC Milan side ,and apart from a very unlucky defeat to spetzia
would be top ..it would be great to beat inter ..
That said we are very capable of finishing second in league ,and winning the coppa cup .
