Milan goalkeeper comments on PSG, Real Madrid links amid uncertainty over future

By Oliver Fisher -

Pepe Reina is one of the many players owned by Milan with an uncertain future, but the Spaniard has shed some light on his plans.

He is currently on loan at Aston Villa but the Premier League side do not have an option to buy, so barring surprises the veteran goalkeeper will return to Italy at the end of the season and then decide – together with the Rossoneri management – what to do. H

He still has one year of contract at Milan and then he will probably retire, but there have been rumours that PSG are keen on acquiring his services as a back-up.

During a live Instagram he was asked about a possible transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, to which he responded (via MilanLive): “With PSG there is nothing. They already have Keylor Navas, Areola, Sergio Rico. And then I have a contract with Milan, we’ll see what will happen.”

Reina also made a comment regarding a possible move to Real Madrid.

“I will speak again with Florentino (laughs). I was lucky to play with many great clubs, even if I never managed to win the Champions League. It’s the only regret I have, but I’m proud.”

The expert goalkeeper also spoke of what he plans to do after retiring.

“I have to start planning. The end is approaching, although I still feel well. As long as I have and the body will allow me, I will continue to play. But the idea at the moment is to coach.”
