AC Milan are increasingly confident that Tijjani Reijnders will resist interest from abroad in order to sign a new long-term deal, a report claims.
As Calciomercato.com report, a seal of approval came from the legendary Dutch midfielder Frank Rijkaard, who yesterday said the following: “Reijnders is on the right path to becoming one of the best midfielders in the world.”
Reijnders is fresh off a performance at the Santiago Bernabeu where he showcased his immense abilities and scored a goal. His chemistry with Youssouf Fofana is growing with each game, and the management believe they are a pairing destined to write a new story at Milan.
The problem is that such performances from the former AZ Alkmaar man are going to attract interest from clubs abroad. Manchester City have been following him for months as have Tottenham, but the doors to a renewal with Milan are opening .
Reijnders is moving towards a new agreement to be signed at the beginning of 2025 with an expiry in 2030. The salary will go from the current €1.7m to €3.5m net per season, so he will double his pay.
CEO Giorgio Furlani has already started talking with Reijnders’ father, who is his agent, and there is ‘great confidence’ that the deal will soon be finalised.
No worry, His father knew Milan is a perfect place for Tij to grow. No contender, guarantee starting spot, and a free role in midfield will make him top 10 midfielder in the world if he stay
Exactly. He and his father aren’t “all in for the money”. They know there are more important things in life. I’m confident he’ll stay with us for a long and amazing time.
He doesn’t seem like a money chaser to me. He’s a modest, down to earth lad who grew up in a wealthy family, since his dad was a pro footballer. He also said that he feels right at home here, with his first child being born here as well.
It will all come down to the club and ownership and if they’ll be able to resist potential high bids for him.
That was the case with Tonali. His agent said in an interview it took some effort but persuaded him this will benefit the club financially. It means they were persuaded by the management to accept the move.
🤣🤣🤣
I can see reijnders is gone real Madrid are after him
Let’s fleece City then? 🤭😂😂
Ambitions of Top4 will only keep him at the club for so long, no matter how much you pay him.
Management talking as usual we shall see.
The Reijnders that is now beginning to ball, that Reijnders. Let’s see how top4 ambitions and if big money comes in for him, how much this snubbing will go.
