AC Milan are confident about completing contract renewals for Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer and Rafael Leao after the January transfer window closes.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), negotiations are already underway and Paolo Maldini is keen to lock down the three ‘jewels’ of Milan in order to avoid any negative surprises in negotiations, seen in the past with key players such as Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, who both left the club for free.
There is ‘great optimism’ surrounding renewals for the trio, with talks to be accelerated following the end of the transfer window, where the Rossoneri are eyeing defensive reinforcements.
Hernandez has blossomed into one of Europe’s finest full-backs since signing in 2019 and has developed a fine relationship with Leao on the left flank, who also arrived in 2019. Bennacer also signed in 2019 and has become a mainstay in the side, vital as part of a midfield double pivot.
