GdS: Milan have maximum confidence in Pioli – Scaroni’s words confirm it

AC Milan are forming a protective layer around head coach Stefano Pioli at the moment as further confirmation arrived that his job is not at risk.

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) recalls that Milan did not win a game in the month of March and despite qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League there are lots of question marks about Pioli at present.

A top four spot is of vital importance for the club in terms of finances and exposure for the club and that is the main target now, while Pioli has the confidence of the club which was reaffirmed once again by the president Scaroni.

“Our trust in Pioli is intact. We are convinced that he is the right coach to lead us to qualification for the Champions League for next season. Anything more that comes is certainly welcome,” he said.

Milan like Pioli because he is a serious person, a hard worker and when he loses he is capable of self-criticism without making accusations against the club. He is a coach who has a style that mirrors that of the club.

Pioli renewed his contract after the defeat against Torino last season and it included a bonus in case he won the Champions League. It seemed simply a novelty until a few months ago, but perhaps a little less today, even though the chances of obtaining the ultimate prize remain incredible remote.
