MN: Milan unable to register signing of teenage midfielder due to bureaucratic issues

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will not be able to register young midfielder Hugo Cuenca in the January transfer window as they had hoped, according to a report.

Cuenca’s name was circulated earlier this season when Calciomercato.com reported that an agreement was reached with his side Deportivo Capiata on the basis of a €500k fee plus 10% of a future resale. Milan beat ‘many great European clubs’ to his signing as per the report, and he was at San Siro last month to see the game against Liverpool.

According to the latest from MilanNews, the Rossoneri hoped to register the teenager in January but for bureaucratic reasons the operation will not take place within the current winter transfer window.

What happens now remains to be seen, but it can be inferred that Milan will have to wait for the summer to officially welcome him into the Primavera, or potentially the operation could yet be abandoned if the bureaucratic issues are serious.
