Tuttosport: Milan in a hurry to agree long-term deal with Leao as top European clubs circle

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan must hurry if they are to secure the long-term future of Rafael Leao because a number of big clubs are keen on him, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanLive) explains that the renewal of Leao should be just a matter of time, like it is for Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer. The Portuguese winger is happy at Milan and has given his agent the task of finding the best conditions to extend with the Rossoneri.

According to the paper, the terms of his new agreement will start from a fixed base of €4m net per season, which could also increase based on personal or team objectives. A fixed percentage of annual increase in salary could be included in the contract too, in order to extend until 2026.

Directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara often converse with agent Jorge Mendes, and it is hoped that the agreement for an extension can be found as soon as possible, but in the meantime Leao’s progress has attracted attention from some of the elite clubs in Europe and Milan are very aware of it.
