CorSera: Ibrahimovic at risk of missing crucial Inter game as tendon pain persists

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are worried that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the derby against Inter this weekend because his condition has not yet improved, a report claims.

According to il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), there is no good news from Milanello in view of a derby that could be decisive for the fate of Milan’s season and the chances of seeing Ibrahimovic on the pitch against Inter have dropped dramatically in recent days.

Optimism has given way to pessimism because the inflammation of his tendon persists, with the 40-year-old continuing to feel pain in his Achilles, and while tests have ruled out the presence of an actual injury he cannot train with the squad and properly prepare for the game while the discomfort persists.

What seemed to be a problem of small significance is now something greater, so the risk of going into the derby without Ibra is now real. Olivier Giroud is warming up his engines in the meantime and would be the first alternative.
