TMW: Milan in talks over Udinese forward with 9 goals this season

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are plotting their moves ahead of the summer transfer window and talks have begun over Udinese star Beto, a report claims.

Since Oliver Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are 36 and 41 respectively and Divock Origi is taking longer than expected to hit any kind of form, there continues to be a lot of speculation circulating regarding the idea of Milan signing a new striker this summer.

According to a report from TMW, there are contacts in progress between Milan and Udinese over the striker, who is described as a ‘hot name’ for the upcoming market. Milan are studying the moves ahead of time, given there may well be competition to land him.

Beto scored 11 goals for the Friulians last season and he has nine goals in the current campaign too, the most recent of which came against the Rossoneri in Udinese’s 3-1 win at the Dacia Arena just prior to the international break.

  1. Honestly out of allow the strikers mentioned as possible targets, Beto is the best option, he is fast, big ,technical and already has knowledge of Serie a….bravo Milan

    1. I tend to agree though Beto would be my second choice only behind Scamacca.

I see Beto as more of an old fashioned #9. He’s not particularly technical and I’ve never really seen him hit the ball from distance. As you said, he’s otherwise a big powerful and deceptively very quick striker (he’s so tall he tends to lope and it’s not until he’s left everyone in his wake that you have a feel for how quick he actually is).

I’ve just gotta keep praying West Ham get relegated. If not Beto would be top of my list.

  2. Not a bad option but not the best option. Beto has Serie A experience which will count a lot since it’s difficult for players to settle into Serie A which is a tougher league for strikers.

But in my opinion the best option is Retegui.

    1. If you can get a pure quality striker that give goals (at least on par with Giroud),it’s not a problem if he can’t play as 10/wing. Thats other players job to do.

    1. Udinese cannot pay lord origi salary 4m euro nett/ years. I think we will stuck with him until his contract expire because no club are stupid to buy him
