GdS: Milan worried Ibrahimovic will miss derby against Inter as tendon issue continues

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hard at work preparing for the derby on Saturday night against Inter, but there are still no certainties about the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Swedish striker has not yet disposed of the inflammation in his Achilles tendon that forced him off early in the game before the before the break against Juventus, meaning he must continue to work in the gym and not on the field with the rest of his team-mates.

The situation will be monitored day after day, but if the pain does not go away there nothing that can be done, with Olivier Giroud then almost certain to be called upon. At 40 years of age Ibra has now learned to listen to his body and therefore has no intention of taking risks, with the bad state of the pitch at San Siro blamed for the latest setback.

Some of you will remember that the former PSG man has already had an injury of this type and that time – in an attempt to recover as quickly as possible – the recovery times were further lengthened.
