TMW: Milan interested in Lyon midfielder while waiting to negotiate with Real Madrid

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking at other options for the playmaker role in the event that they are unable to sign Brahim Diaz permanently, a report claims.

According to Niccolò Ceccarini’s latest for TMW, the Milan management are continuing to probe the market in search of opportunities to strengthen the squad ahead of the summer transfer window.

As has been mentioned several times, one of the priorities is to keep Brahim Diaz by negotiating a lower price than the €22m agreed with Real Madrid at the time his loan spell was renewed for two years back in 2021.

The Rossoneri are also following Houssem Aouar’s situation as the midfielder is out of contract in the summer and will not renew with Lyon. Milan remain at the window but there is no shortage of competition to land the 24-year-old, who can play either as a playmaker or as a box-to-box player.

  1. Let’s hope nobody else will beat our 1Mil per season offer. If that was the case I believe we could offer as much as 1.1, 1.2 per season to beat competition.

  2. Signing Aouar should NOT be dependent/conditioned on Diaz. I mean how many more inconsistent and non-existent games from Diaz (and CDK) do we need to prove we need a player like Aurora?? We have zero play among ability from our ACM. Strikers get zero service. He’s FREE, young, talented and can play multiple positions in the mid. WTF do we need to think about??? Lol. What a joke. If we miss out on him them M&M should resign. This is a no-brainer. Sign this guy ASAP. Period.
