CM: Milan opting to keep midfielder in January despite lack of game time

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan want to keep Yacine Adli at the club for the rest of this season rather than loan him out despite him getting so few minutes, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the French midfielder has had a very curious time at Milan so far since arriving back from Bordeaux in the summer.

He has only played 114 minutes of Serie A action all season long and everything points to the suggestion that he should be loaned out for regular minutes. Cremonese and Sampdoria have shown serious interest, but Milan have not really entertained talks with either side.

This is because they feel that his development is better served at Milanello among the first team rather than out on loan.

It seems that they will stick to this plan throughout January and ensure that they have plenty of options in the midfield for if anyone gets injured.

  1. Yeah, sounds like a good plan: NOT loan him out to get minutes and NOT give any minutes in Milan either. That’ll teach him, right? Watch and learn, eh?

    1. It’s going to hurt if the coach trusts him and he delivers. He’s the cheapest of all the AMs we’ve got but if there’s one player I know can unlock a defence with a killer pass it’s him. YouTube doesn’t lie(hips too). Just imagine he comes good and everyone is forced to admit he’s better than CdK but Pioli thinks the boy can play only as an AM whereas at Bordeaux he played a variety of positions.

      1. Yep. He’s the only one with ANY creativity in the squad and has the ability to unlock defenses. I guess those qualities are overrated in Pioli’s “pass the ball to Leao and pray”-tactics.

  2. Yeah would love to see him get a few games in a three man midfield flanked my Bennacer and Tonali. That along with CDK as a CF.
