CorSera: Barcelona and Juve want Kessie – Milan know exactly who should replace him

By Oliver Fisher -

Two clubs above all are interested in signing Franck Kessie, a report claims, while AC Milan know exactly who they want to replace him.

Today’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) focuses on the future of Kessie, whose contract with Milan will expire on June 30. The player want €8m net per season to extend his deal and the Rossoneri management have so far not got close to that, so the Ivorian wants to wait for June before deciding the best destination.

In January he refused a move to Tottenham, postponing any choice until the summer when he might get some more lucrative offers from a salary point of view given that no transfer fee would be involved. Barcelona and Juventus are among those interested.

Milan meanwhile have already identified the replacement for Kessie as per the paper (via MilanNews), and it is current Lille midfielder Renato Sanches. The Portuguese international is represented by Jorge Mendes, the same agent who looks after the interests of Rafael Leao, who is close to a renewal with the Rossoneri and during talks it is possible Sanches was discussed.

  1. I find all of this hard to believe. We can’t spend 75M on Vlahovic but will spend 75M on Sanches and Boatman? Can’t afford Faivre at 15M but can afford Kulusveski at 35M (even if it starts as a loan)….I think we are being taken for a ride. I don’t see us spending much of anything. Free Agents and low cost young players like Lavetic are most likely. We are Arsenal. While Juve and Inter spend to buy players like Vlahovic and Gosens – we buy 18 year olds that may or may not develop and contribute in 5 years. If we are being cost conscious – Why spend 35M on Sanches (who I love as a player) over Kamara (free) or Zakaria (7M)? Why Boatman (30-35M) over Christensen, Rudiger, Luiz, Sule, etc… who are all free? Something doesn’t add up and I think it’s all BS and will believe it only when I see these players with our jersey on
