CM: Milan’s offer to Kessie is ‘take it or leave it’ as early season struggles weaken his position

By Oliver Fisher -

The Franck Kessie situation continues to be a perplexing one and his early season performances are not helping his case, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com writes how so far this season the Rossoneri have seen a fraction of the player they saw last year as the Ivorian has not been anywhere close to as dominant from a physical point of view, so much so that Pioli has had no problem leaving him out of the XI or subbing him off during games.

His quality is beyond question, but it is clear that he needs time to get back to 100% after all the disruption. First there was the Olympics which ran until the first week of August, then the muscle injury to his left thigh which kept him out for the matches against Cagliari and Sampdoria, and finally the off-field distractions.

The negotiations have been going on for a year and a half as per technical director Paolo Maldini, and the report mentions how the impression is that Milan are not willing to raise their offer meaning it is a ‘take it or leave it’ type of proposal. Kessie and his agent have not yet made a decision.

  1. When Dollaruma left every AC Milan supporter thought that it was a tragedy. Now, AC Milan have a good goalkeeper who is impressing more than Dollaruma. Kessie is good but not excellent. Last year he was indispensable but this year he is far from his top form. Sell him & get an excellent young midfielder. Don’t let him leave on a free transfer like Dollaruma & Canahoglu. Dollaruma was manipulated by Raiola…he is a reserve goalkeeper now. Canahoglu was renowned for excellent free kicks with the Turkish national team but never really impressed with AC Milan.
