Tuttosport: Leao taking lessons from Ibrahimovic in search of ‘Capello cure’

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan forward Rafael Leao has started taking lessons from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to get him back to his goalscoring best for the Rossoneri.

According to Tuttosport (via Milan News), Leao is looking to use the fact that Ibrahimovic is now back at the club in an advisory role to ensure that he does not let the rest of the season slip by without having the expected impact on the team.

Leao has not scored for Milan in Serie A since the game against Verona on September 23, and something clearly needs to be done about that.

Whilst Leao is not the same sort of player that Ibrahimovic was during his career, the Swedish legend can certainly teach him a thing or two about ruthless finishing once he is in the box.

Parallels are being drawn with the treatment that Ibrahimovic got from Fabio Capello when the pair worked together.

Ibrahimovic explained in his book that Capello made him take 50 shots every day in front of goal for six to eight months until he became one of the best finishers in world football.

Whilst there is more to Leao’s game than just goals, he seems to have lost the knack in front of goal recently.
