AC Milan have absolutely no intention of risking Mike Maignan and they will continue to treat his recovery with the utmost caution, according to a report.
According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), there is some added apprehension surrounding Maignan because he is recovering from a double calf injury, one that made him miss the World Cup where his country France are a finalist.
The 27-year-old is continuing with his plan towards a complete recovery but with ‘extreme caution’ so as to avoid relapses. That means the former Lille man could miss the final friendly scheduled for the afternoon of December 30 in Eindhoven against PSV.
The report does not however go on to mention whether that will result in him starting the first game of the second part of the season against Salernitana on January 4, though it has been mentioned that the plan is for him to feature in that game.
