GdS: Milan want a dry loan for Maldini but Verona want an option to buy

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan would like Daniel Maldini to move on a dry loan to Hellas Verona but the Gialloblu want an option to buy the youngster, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Rossoneri and Hellas Verona are very far along in their discussions for the loan of Maldini.

The issue is over the formula of the loan. Verona want the option to make the deal permanent at the end of next season and they are happy to let Milan have a buy-back clause.

Milan want to keep more control over the player than that though and they just want him to spend one season at the Bentegodi and then return to Milanello next summer.

Considering he is the son of Milan technical director Paolo Maldini, it may be a hard deal for Verona to negotiate but it would certainly be an interesting destination for the winger.

  1. Im pretty confident that AC Milan management are fully aware that by loaning the player out with a buyout clause would give verona a better sentiment to actually bet on the player and then earning a few millions for their work down the road. Add to the before mentioned our management fully knows that daniel maldini would want to return to us and prove his worth so there isnt really much chance of us losing control as long as the buyback clause is only a few mil above the price verona would have to pay.
Win win situation for everyone involved.
